U.S. DISTRICT COURT - DISTRICT OF MINNESOTA
Mankato Web Design recently had the distinct pleasure of creating a website redesign for the United States District Court District of Minnesota website. The website is intended to be used as a source of information regarding jury duty, court calendars, and other court related material for Minnesota residents.
Enhancements to the web site include:
Improved Navigation - Web pages work in intuitive and consistent ways, making it easier for visitors to find what they are looking for and know where they are within the web site.
Improved Look and Feel - Enhanced graphics and the new page layouts provide visitors with
an improved user experience.
New Features - New features on the web site include print-friendly versions of the web
pages, news and announcements, drop-down boxes providing direct access to web pages, a
site index, font scalability, and full-text searching.
Improved Accessibility - The new web site is designed to improve accessibility. The web site
is designed so that its content will be available to persons with disabilities who use assistive
software to navigate the Internet.
Project Needs:
The needs of this project were extremely extensive due to the amount of content, diversified viewing audience, and multiple specialized needs. The start of the project presented five years of archive pages which needed updated coding and a fresh design. Mankato Web Design also had to ensure the new website would work properly for blind and deaf visitors.
The United States District Court District of Minnesota needs included a website which is easy to navigate, comprehend, and locate information. The website also needed to include safe password protected areas as well as the ability to update information. Additionally the site had to be visually appealing to all visitors.
Project Results:
Mankato Web Design created an advanced website with multiple features. The new website includes a cohesive blue color scheme, prominent display of the United States District Court District of Minnesota logo, and updated, easy-to-follow, navigation. Also included are various new tables, charts, and other imagery. The updated website additionally features the ability for visitors to customize the view of their font size, which is helpful for visitors who need or prefer larger font sizes. For viewers who would like to print information, Mankato Web Design incorporated a custom made CSS script to enable easy printing from any of the hundreds of informative pages.
Backend features include password protected areas for content to be updated and edited with ease. This includes the updates for both public and private calendars, content, and new information. The website, as with any Mankato Web Design project, will also appear smooth and flaw free regardless of which browser is used to view it.
